Recently my father passed away and left me with a small semi trailer leasing company unfortunately I live in Tennessee and the leasing company is on New Jersey the only power unit in have is a 71 Brockway 361 with antique plates. Can I move empty trailers with this unit without a CDL for my own use ?? Can I even drive this unit without a CDL?? I love his truck and want too keep it and drive it but I wanna do it legally

unless its a jerk cop.......I Would imagine law enforcement would be 'WOW'ed" seeing that...Of Course It cant be a Junker that's Rusted and Looks like its sat for 36 years and 4 months.
Eventually,You will need a CDL and proper regs to be compliant-
Congrats on the free acquisition- Make the best of it. -
If you own it and do NOT use if for commercial purposes, you of not need a CDL
Get someone else to move your trailers. -
