These states all operate on the NCIC database, so it shouldn't be different from state to state. You need to see the NJ print out of your driver's license check which should tell the infraction, the location, the agency and the conviction date that it supposedly happened in Pennsylvania. This isn't really something that requires an attorney, just a lot of time and investigating. Could be that your license number was incorrectly entered in a clerical error, it wouldn't be the first time it's happened. Citations have a lengthy paper trail, with one copy going to you, one to the officer, one to the court, and one mailed to the state upon conviction. On top of that, they are entered in the court's computer system, and put in a file.

Call and ask with your first and last name switched over. For example you are John Smith, but call and ask if they have tickets for Smith (first name) and John (last name).
Had a similar thing happened to my driver in TN. He kept getting mails about fine not paid, but when we called there, they were saying there is nothing to be paid -
I second that motion!!kemosabi49 and G13Tomcat Thank this.

Get a ticket in PA. Then NJ will see you only have one ticket in PAFeedman Thanks this.

I've actually had good luck with this in the past when the State wronged me, not NJ but TN. Most state reps have office staff that will help you out if they can. The one time I had to do it was the state jacking me around with my IRP renewal. Nothing like a department being threatened with a congressional inquiry to get them on the right path.
Call the local news and see if they are interested. Most state departments don't want any unwanted attention.77fib77 Thanks this. -
I got a court summons years ago for a ticket I never got, nor was I ever at the described location. City hall, the police, no one was of any help. So I had to go to traffic court.
During a break the prosecutor asked if any one had any questions, so I went up and asked to see the original ticket. It described a completely different vehicle, and the license plate number was almost the same, but was off my one digit.
So whom ever keypunched the court summons punched up my plate number by accident. I was free to go.rank Thanks this. -
You should but that's not the way city hall works. I'd just be fortunate that I didn't have to pay a lawyer big bucks to get it all straitened out.

Was it Red Deer?
Sorry, it might have been mine.
I've actually had a few tickets just disappear. No explanation, but they either disappeared during the process to fight them or they never showed up my abstract.
