Yeah. Can't see it in the picture, but I'm right next to an on ramp. With 30 seconds warning, I could have hit the exit and taken a decent state highway around the wreck which would have put me back on the big road right by a Pilot. I could have stopped for a leak and still only have lost 20 minutes. That's the 2nd time in 3 weeks I've been stuck like that. Time to drag the radio out of the closet at the very least.
First time, I didn't make it home. I did
today, but it was by a razor thin margin. Wife has the day off and we have the house to ourselves until the kids get home from school, and that never happens. No way I wasn't getting back today.ClassB, G13Tomcat, Bob Dobalina and 2 others Thank this. -

Pffffttt, what a hornets nest today was kind of. I managed because I slipped into apathetic mode.
My schools today, there was a mix up on the schools end and they merged two schools orders together on the same invoice the school submitted there order wrong on there end and our system doesn't know, all it does is process data from computer to computer and it sees 30 case of freezer coming from customer XYZ123 so it says okay and sends it to the warehouse computer which puts it in the cue and the warehouse picks the order to what the computer says and it goes on the conveyor belt and down to the trailer.
So with that mess coming and looming I also saw that prior to that they tacked "the tower" on to me today. Boy that was sure fun, (eye roll).
So an hour and a half at the Tower and now I'm in danger of blowing the bus schedule which was going to happen anyhow. So after the tower I did 3 stops and then went to try and get the schools done 4 elementary schools and 1 high school and 1 middle school.
So after running around for 4 hours in a big circle I was able to get those done.
Had to unload at one stop 72 cases and they had to go through there paper work and sort it all out because of merged invoices. Then I had to reload the separated stuff and deliver it to that school. Reloading it wasn't that hard just threw it all on the tail of the trailer.
Anyhow like I said 4 hours devoted to that mess. Then a few other stops got home at 4:00pm today usually on Wednesday it's 2 hours earlier then that. Oh well...Bob Dobalina, MACK E-6 and G13Tomcat Thank this. -

I had a day linehaul run once to Louisville (coming from northern Indiana). I crossed the river and noticed that northbound was at a standstill. Backed up miles. There really shouldn't be one good way to get into a large city like that. I know there are worse cities to drive in than Louisville, but when there are only two bridges (one hardly anybody knows about) to cross in to or out of the city, that's a problem.
