Or better yet I notice it, write it up, and see it never get taken care of.
It's ok though, the new trucks are coming in without gauges for stuff like that so we can just bury our heads in the sand and hope for the best.

But...
I take care of my under warranty truck, have it serviced routinely, etc. That's one big difference over the fleet slave who ignores the warning signs because he's got to try and get that load delivered so it will go on his next check.

I checked into it. You can get a once a year exemption good for up to three days, midnight to midnight, and can run a maximum of 1000 miles in California. You can apply for and get your exemption online, but it must be three days in advance.G13Tomcat and Broke Down 69 Thank this.

So all the Cummins that have been rebuilt after less than 250k would be considered to have run a normal life?Oxbow, Eldiablo, Highway Sailor and 1 other person Thank this.

Well, my "dedicated route" lasted one week. The logistics manager told me he got screwed out of the return loads, but that could I do the north route, for $150 less a load.
I don't roll like that, shifted on the fly and went right back to securing my own loads. Loading now in L.A. (a day early) for my trip back up to Orygun.
Man, some of the spot market rates are REALLY good right now. I posted my truck on the way down yesterday and my phone rang off the hook for about 4 straight hours until I got what I wanted.spyder7723, Lepton1, Tug Toy and 2 others Thank this. -
Hang in there, @Broke Down 69 ... a lot of the 'country' is still 'upset' (if you will) with all the hurricane (and tragedies) as of late. Even pulling asphalt locally, I've had some off beats as repercussions myself. Drop in a bucket to y'all, but... .shixzle happens to us'ns ... all around.
Broke Down 69 Thanks this. -
Sounds like he found a Cheaper truck. I have had that happen so many times over the years it's not funny. Some people will haul for peanuts just to get a Dedicated run. I say, have at it.Oxbow, Broke Down 69, Scooter Jones and 1 other person Thank this.

I agree! Every time I think I get something dedicated started someone comes and dose it for less. I'll still keep trying though. This year I have done much better on the open market than last year by far. I think @Broke Down 69 will do just fine with his recent office experience he had with loadboard freight.
I actually like loadboard freight. Some of it is the thrill of getting a good load/rate and some of it is the adventure of not knowing what's next.
I ran one of our power only coustemers last week for 2 days and I felt like an employee on the second turn of four. They called me every 6 hours for 3 days after asking me to come get another trailer full.
Nope I'm on vacation!!!Airborne, Broke Down 69, Scooter Jones and 1 other person Thank this.
