they closed that old truckstop at the 99 years ago .
they dug deep to get the contaminated soil out and fenced it off
several companies pay monthly to park in big lot in front of pit down past pilot on right just past washington roofing supply. if your rolling early he probably wont bill you.
if you go past pilot and take first left on kimmie road there is a wide spot on the right past the log yard. or you can go straight through stop sign and round block to the right there is another wide spot by the little league field.
its a big industrial park airport area

 

They have parking onsite I stayed the night there, just make sure you have everything you need with you. My appointment was for 11:15 and they took me at 10:45 They load quickly and my load was light. The closest scale is at exit 100 I-77 north it's a Flying J but Brintels runs the scale which is not a CAT scale. and is behind the tractor/trailer shop. it's tight so when you come off the scale watch your tandoms.

 

Does anyone know if we still need to call for a New Mexico permit?

 

Buy it at the the port. No cash T-check or credit card. It's 15 cents per mile

 

From what I heard, they would rather you drive around NM and they will pay you the extra miles. At least that’s if your going from San Antonio or Dallas area... IIRC, @radioshark was going from El Paso.....

Is there a reason not tho go thru North Platte NE? Im headed to OR but had a load from Chyenne a few weeks ago with instructions not to route thru there.
