Ugh, that sucks. I hate autos. Unfortunately, sticks are going the way of the dinosaur. Fleets are all going automated anymore

flat bed is different than dry vanning, you do alot more physical stuff that wears the body out, and being local you are doing even more of that stuff, which is why i actually rejected some jobs doing local flatbed.

I can't argue with that, as I don't have any flatbed experience. I must admit, I've never met a fat flatbed driver... Though I've also never met a humble one. ;)

i never did flat bed, but a couple guys wanted to hire me for flat bed, 1 of them was home weekly, the dude had 2010 truck with tons of things wrong with it and the steering sucks, the brakes sucked, and had abs light not working, and so on, and he refused to fix it, so i rejected him as an employer. he did offer great pay though, but it's not worth driving a safety hazard truck.

another guy offered me local, but it was 2 trips per day, for similar pay of my previous local job which was dry vanning 2 trips a day, my previous job even wore me out, just from the fact the truck vibrates all day long every day, and that's not good for the joints combined with the physical stuff. i couldn't imagine how bad the flat bed job was, so i rejected that job.

a 3rd company offered me flat bed job, but this company wants me out 3 weeks minimum, and the pay is only like 42 cents a mile which i know other dry vanning jobs in my area paying that, and they have me home weekly.

I'm local right now and what you speak is truth. Then, when you get home, the pressures on to get a shower, eat dinner, take care of any chores or "honey do's" and hit the sack for the next day.

For me, the stress level of running local is off the charts. It doesn't help that I run the northeast (PA, NJ, NY, CT, and MA) every day, either.

I see fat flat bed guys every day. Some of them make me wonder how they fit between the seats into the bunk in these t660s.
