The Company decided to retire my Classic. I told my boss that is what I wanted again. I know some people will give me grief for that but I had real good luck with it and the one before it.
Soooo when I got my new truck it was a Casscadia. Now I haven't had a chance to put a lot of miles on it but my first observations are a lot of electronic crap that will be hard to find someone to fix correctly. I'm sure that will improve with time. Plastic, Plastic, and more Plastic. Screwed up storage space. On mine there are 3 little glove boxes above the drivers area. About all that will fit in them are a pair of gloves. Time will tell how well the 60 series will run. I loved the Cat in the old truck.
I want my Classic back!

I drive an older Classic myself. Since the original post, I did manage to go test drive the Cascadia. The one I drove had the DD15 with a 13 spd. Seem to run really well, but they all seem to do that with nothing on top of 'em. YEP..... plastic everywhere was the first thing I noticed inside the thing. Also... driver seat really sucked. At least for me, it felt like I was sittin' on a badly shaped brick with a spring attached to the bottom of it. I'm still looking around at newer trucks so let me know how you end up liking it. -
Is the mileage improvement as much as its advertised?
-
Depends on the driver. That ugly rolling piece of plastic is sure nothing to brag about, give me a Pete any day over some piece of garbage Freightliner!
-
Coming from someone who isn't even out of highschool I find it hard to believe you'd even know how a Freightliner drove let alone a Pete...LOL
But I won't argue these new trucks are just ugly and put together poorly! And when I say new trucks I mean all of them! -
Actually I do know! I rode in both Freightliner's and Pete's mostly Freightliner's and when the few Pete's I rode in rode a heck of a lot better than the Freightliner's.
I have to rant but people like you really make me mad when you think cause I'm still in school I don't know anything about a truck! -
You are going to make life hard for yourself if you keep that attitude up.
Riding in trucks in the weekend is a bit different than doing it for a living
sometimes it pays to keep your mouth shut and ears open,I was 18 once thats how I know.Les2, 550hpW900L, walleye and 1 other person Thank this. -
Your to funny kid...LOL Rode in them huh? Tell me did you pull the exact same load? On the same road, loaded exactly the came? I could go on and on but its pointless..LOL
I didn't say anything about you not know anything about trucks did I? All I said was how would you know being that you don't drive for a living.
The funniest part is is that you don't even have a clue what a rough ride is(riding your schwinn over railroad tracks is probably the roughest you've ever experienced...
). Try driving a Mack with camelback suspension for a ride. Do it for 5 days straight and then come back and tell everyone what rides better, you answer will be....anything with airride on it....LOL
Anyway your to easy to get a rise out of...LOLLast edited: Nov 15, 2008

Actually I rode in a Mack Superliner pulling a low boy and I work at a trucking company in the shop and we have 5 actually 6 since we got another Pete 379, 4 Freightliners, 1 Mack, 2 Internationals. Hell I rode in a 97 Volvo WIA running containers for 5 days straight and that was a rough riding sob cause of the short wheelbase and them spring ride chassis.

Double L, that's what I was talking about in the political thread. Your attitude! Anyway, someone mentioned about them having a problem just shutting down, and sure enough the other day I saw a brand new Werner Arcadia broke down on the side with it's hood up. I got to look at a new one the other day from the company Pride, and I really liked some of the features, although I'd really like to know if the plastic inside rattles and make noises. I think it would make a good road truck if your only gonna keep it for 3-5 years.
