I would stay away from "extra" warranties that you can purchase. Everyone I know that has bought one wasted their money.
Some will have an apu on them but most don't.
Also, not sure what you're doing for financing but if you buy a truck from Schneider & they recommend Go Capital, don't use them. They are ripoff.

Just be careful. A lot of them are shams. I went through Wheaton Financial. They are a 3rd party lender & BMO Harris is the actual lien holder. I was not aware of this until I got my title in the mail. But being a first time buyer, it is what it is. My interest rate is a little higher than what I would like but once again, I'm a first time buyer. After I've had this truck for 18 months & made all the payments & everything is still all good with my credit, I'll be able to get financing at good rates. It's similar to a new authority getting insurance for the first time. You pay a high price to start in business.

So
That is good to hear, it's ran good ever since. I've seen a lot of negative feedback regarding the DPF's. -

You hit the nail right on the head -
Heartland truck sales in okc is owned by and sells freymillers trucks. These are all o/o spec'd, good maintenance trucks. They currently have mostly Pete 386's with a few 579's and KW t 660's with a few 680's.. All have apu's, 15 litre engines and convertable 9 speeds or already converted 13 speeds and they may have some automatics but not sure about that. And they have some of the best mechanics in the country at that shop. Being a l/p driver, we use that shop instead of the company shop id's the reason I know this. Oh and they have every color on the rainbow except for green, if it's green, it's a trade in, not an ex fleet truck. They did have I think 2 379's and at least one w9 trade ins the last time I was by there too. They also have used fleet reefer trailers as well.

I highly recommend that if a truck has over 500k miles go ahead & replace the water pump, starter, alternator, & the belt tensioner & idlers. Better to do them on your schedule instead of our on the side of the road.
