As bad as they are they are the only ones actually building new Truck stops.

Every time I hear about getting routed by the company I cringe. I can't imagine getting micromanaged like that. I go the way I want to go and nobody says a thing.

:) I read a review of a new Loves in AZ on Truckers Path. Everyone was happy and giving 5 stars because of the new building, new paved lot and how clean in general, etc...

Then some wrote "I just poured a gallon of urine on the new asphalt to christen it."

There is a new Pilot directly across from the Costco DC at Morris, IL. Adjacent to the TA.

I don't care for Minooka, either.

Last night, I left Utica because they were 3 deep, and went up to LaSalle to the J, only 2 deep there.
The Road Ranger Pilot at x56, Princeton, IL, is almost never backed up. Almost always parking, too, although it may be a long walk to the building.

Keyed showers like Loves has at the Road Ranger, though.

Love's fuel islands are not just crowded because of points and probably mostly not at all because of points, love's has a killer discount program on fuel. Who do you think the megas are going to use, the chain that offers a .10 cpg discount or the one offering a .40 cpg discount. Bingo, there's your long lines. Honestly the points are great, but that fuel savings to me is a no-brainer on a l/p.

For the most part, Love's is pretty good. I just wish they had some variety in their food selection. Subwya and Arby's get old, real quick.

I'm a fan of the Love's in Batesville and Pearl, Ms. They both have a lot of fuel islands and tend to keep the windshield scrubbers replaced and the washing fluid clean. I typically fuel every morning by 4 am so there is never a line, I get 3 or 4 points per gallon, and the stores are clean and employees are never hard to find.

Anytime I try to fuel at them around noon, I tell myself I'm being an idiot, and then confirm it when I see how full it is, usually pulling right back out.

In Florida, near JAX, There used to be an "El Cheapo" truck stop that had bristle brushes that worked really well in removing bugs from the windshield.

I went out and bought such a brush and stuck in my sidebox. The ones at truck stops just smear the bugs and make a bigger mess.
