I work for ufp transportation. It is a division of universal forest products. The plants that have trucks all operate them as they see fit. Every plant has different pay systems. We have four trucks and we are hiring a driver. I average 60 hours Monday through Friday. Usually touch three loads a day with multiple stops. Am gone from home approximately 10 to 12 nights a month. You have to hustle all the time. I fell its with it for the pay and benefits

I guess you get paid hourly but if u home alot then thats fine plus your gross pay If I'm gone 3 weeks at a time I shouldn't bring home 7 to 8 hundred dollars a week if I was bringing in atleast 1k a week then that's a different but if im wrong then tell me but I just don't think it's worth being away from family when some guys go home everyweek and bring home the same pay that just my thoughts on things
-
The truth is you are worth more than me as a dry van hauler. You unload, load, tarp, chain and put in a lot more time physically yet I gross about 1k and sometimes 1200 a week mon-fri and home daily, sometimes by noon. Unless you are only running 1500 miles a week, I would say 12-1400 gross should be a normal average if you are hauling anything besides cheap shingle loads or plywood.

What does the average Maverick driver make per week? Find out...call a recruiter. If you are AVERAGE or less, you can up your game. These guys trying to help you are not average. If you are better than average, then you find a place on a better team.
cke, peterbilt_2005, Giddy-Up-Go and 2 others Thank this. -
I considermyself average, but I'll take that as a compliment.
I do agree, if you believe you are above average, then find someplace where you can show you're worth itGiddy-Up-Go Thanks this. -
Perhaps average at your current gig, but definitely a cut above at your previous. You don't want to be "average" and go to an above average company.Giddy-Up-Go and Gunner75 Thank this.

like @TripleSix said ask a recruiter
flatbedding pay is, different for alot of people. You could be a company driver being paid per mile or percentage.
lease onto a company
owner operator
im an owner operator my pay is different than the above average driver. i have (overhead costs)
TripleSix is excluded from my comment. He is a Driver to strive to become.
put your time in and learn the business. Flatbedding is a small world. you will find some that are excellent to work for, some not so great.
Put your time in get some experience, then become that above average driver, that excellent company is looking for.TripleSix Thanks this. -
He wants more money. These drivers are chiming in telling him what they make, but they're better than average. If he is average at an entry level company complike Maverick, he will be less than average at a better gig. You dont want to switch to another company to be at the bottom, because you will get starved out.peterbilt_2005 Thanks this.
