I had a heck of time today trying to get the actual address for my delivery.
The load assignment said one address, the QC GPS had a different address, the BOL yet another.
There was no phone number for the customer.
My RM GPS couldn't even find a W 1950 S in Salt Lake City, or the street named on the BOL.
After several calls to my DM and a couple messages to CSR they finally sent me a phone number.
That number provided the directions to 3 warehouses in SLC, but none of them was the one I was going to.
I ended up following the QC GPS address, which got me to one of the warehouses. They gave me directions to the correct one, which was right around the block.
And the address of 'my' warehouse didn't match any of the other ones.
Talk about a maze!
But I was still on time, barely, when I hit the dock. And they had me unloaded in about 30 minutes.
And now I'll be headed to Jurupa Valley on a empty trailer move.

I had accepted a nice 1200 mile Amazon load going to WA, but when I got back in the truck this morning it had been cancelled by the customer.
The message came in at around 1530 yesterday but I was in a hotel room.
No new pplan this morning so I headed to JV, a couple hours later than I had said because I was planning my time around that pplan.
I got to JV and still no pplan, so I waited.
45 minutes later I get my load, and it's even better.
1800 miles to MN, a drop at Amazon with a wide window of time to accommodate my rather limited hours for the next few days. -
Nice I am headed from mantino to SLC tcalling ther. looks like I get to hit the weather in wy snow and ice are predicted for Sunday.
-
Well they pulled a fast one on me.
I shut down here in Denver because today is my youngest daughters birthday. I wanted to see her and give her a present. Haven't seen her quite yet because she was doing stuff.
So I get a message at about 0330 this morning asking when I would be rolling. I didn't see it until I woke up at about 0500.
And I'm wondering why they would want to know, considering my available hours for the next couple days and the delivery window I had.
I had been shut down at the TA East for a couple hours when they sent a t-call for my load.
Have it at the terminal by 1800.
I kind of expected it, though.
When I sent my loaded call from the JV terminal a message came back saying that it was late and send a mac 22. Of course I didn't send anything because they knew what my load assignment said.
My nice 1800 mile load got cut in half. Oh well.
I rather expected this to happen when that late message came in, and even more when they asked when I would be rolling.
I even helped them out by telling them that should they be planning a t-call I would be stopping at Denver tonight.
It is an Amazon load, which seemed to be late because of the high volume of freight in the JV area.
They had sent me down there from Salt Lake, which is quite the deadhead just to reposition a driver. I guess they were really short on drivers.
But it would have been nice to be told up front, or at least sent the t-call while I was driving instead of after sitting for a couple hours. They knew exactly where I was stopping for the night, early this morning. -
I am in SLC now just dropped a t-call waiting till am to see what they have for me. I turned down the same load 3 times today. 350 miles DH to the snow storm in WY nope.
Moosetek13 Thanks this. -
I hear that.
I'm in Denver and we are getting some snow here as well.
My PTA is set for 0700 tomorrow morning, but I'm not moving if it looks bad. -
I made two of my girls very happy tonight.
Lorelei, my youngest at 14, finally figured out what she wanted for her birthday.
Which was today. (And has 'luck' would have it, I just happened to roll through today.)
Crowns.
She is the most difficult when it comes time for a birthday or Christmas, because she can never think of anything she wants or needs.
Both of them, actually.
But she wanted crowns, finally.
Crowns are a form of currency in an online game she plays. They can buy you all sorts of things to help you out.
But, they cost real money. I guess they have to make a profit somehow, with a free online game.
I logged on with her user name and went all out.
Now she has 90,000 crowns to use, and for only $80 bucks! Such a deal, because they were on sale.
She was shocked, which means I did my job.
My next daughter, Leann, nearly 16, had a little problem
Her Wacom tablet (used for drawing and painting) broke. I got her that 4 years ago as a Christmas present.
She is one talented girl. Her art is simply amazing.
And she didn't break it, it simply stopped working. After 4 years, nearly any electronic device will die.
So that was her next Christmas present.
But as I had saved enough money, and I got to town today, I was able to give her the money to get it now instead of waiting.
My kids seem so different from other kids that I see or read about.
They don't EXPECT things. They are simply grateful when they get it.
They don't ask for things, and it is even hard for them when I ask what they want.
They have never caused a scene in a store because they want a toy or candy.
So when they actually express it, I actually want to do it for them.
How many parents are so blessed with their children?dptrucker, tazman74, A21CAV and 1 other person Thank this. -
Evanston, WY.
I picked a 3 stop Sears load headed into ID, delivering the final tomorrow.
It's kinda funny how this load worked out.
I was sent the pplan early yesterday morning, but the first stop was in Rock Springs at 0900. I get the plan at about 0600.
It was also snowing in Denver, and all the way to that first stop, so I declined it because of the snow.
A planner set my PTA for 2357, since that was the second load I had refused because of the weather.
About 1100 the snow was getting lighter and the traffic cams showed good conditions so I reset my PTA for then.
They sent me the same pplan, but delivering a day later for all stops.
That was good by me, and I took it.
I got here at about 1230, with the next stop in Logan, UT at 0800 tomorrow. No truck stops closer on my route so I stopped here. The final is in ID at 1130.
A pplan was sent a few hours later, and not a bad load.
Pick up in ID tomorrow afternoon, going to PA and delivering on the 18th at 0900. Live on both ends, and 2200 miles.
It will be an easy week with time for a 34, but decently fair miles for the week.
I could probably arrange a t-call for it, but I would like to get my full 70 back. -
Nice one I passed you on 80 I am in Cheyenne now at loves came from slc then tomorrow headed to Pueblo. Nice run for you.
Moosetek13 Thanks this. -
