Saw these when I was picking up a tarp...grabbed a pair to try 'em out. Adjustable snap binder with a locking handle. I guess we'll see how they work...

Interesting. Back in my younger, dumber days pulling flatbed, I'd carry a 3' cheater pipe for those type binders. I'm sure you know the reason. The adjuster on there seems like a great idea if you keep it oiled. But the locking mechanism, I don't think I'd like too much. I'd use the cheater pipe to pop those binders loose, and the last thing I'd want is my hand in the way holding the lock open.

Biggest problem I have with snap binders is when it's 1/4 link off...can't quite get it snapped, but loosen the chain 1/2 a link and it's too loose. I have some other clips that lock the snap binders so they won't release, but they can be a pain to get on there sometimes.

Like I said, looked interesting enough to try, and were reasonable enough on price to decide to go ahead and buy a couple. We'll see if they turn out to just be novelty crap that looked like a good idea at the time but just clutters up my box 'til I get tired of looking at them and stash them somewhere in the garage or if they work good enough to be my go-to snap binders.

Says it has a 6600# WLL, which is good through 3/8" G70.

Went on easy enough last night hauling a couple coils. Biggest problem I see is the overall length. The screw-in adjuster had to be used to keep it as short as possible to make it the same length as my other snap binders, so there hasn't really been any advantage seen yet, other than the locking handle which makes those other locking clips I have unnecessary. The handle doesn't lock down as tight to the binder, which is OK because of the locking mechanism, which should make removal a little easier as I have plenty of space to grab ahold of it to pull on it.

Why not just use ratchets if this is the problem you have?
