First what the bjs reports is the breakdown of traffic stops by nationality. There is no way to know why these stops were initiated or that the officer had racial intentions.
The article from the washington post can not report the same year stats correctly so why would I bother to read the rest. -
Your Stanford article is based merely on data collected from north Carolina. This does not translate nationwide.
Now we come to stats regarding prison. The one big thing that is missing from this , how many encounters each individual had with the courts prior to the sentence to prison. Fact is more whites are in prison than blacks.
The aclu article struck me as a propaganda piece, rather than fact.ladr Thanks this. -
sounds like it's a bit out of tune to me

@Mr. Jackhole - so in 30 minutes you read close to 100 pages?
The BJS and the post articles are from different years, but the data shows the same trends. A black person gets pulled over more frequently than white, gets searched more often, is more likely to leave the traffic stop with a citation, and that citation is more likely to be upheld in court. If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, I'm going to call it a duck. It's called institutional racism. It does not stem from overt thought or action, but manifests itself in thousands of small things, which build and then explode over a major incident.
Can you explain why more black people are exonerated than white, even after controlling for income? -
Jackhole was asking about rights, so here's a good segue to your post... Black people are, in relation to their percentage of the population in the US, jailed and convicted at a disproportional rate and as a result, are the most impacted by felony voting restrictions. 1 in 13 black people have lost their right to vote because of this, compared to 1 in 56 non black people. Voter ID laws target minorities and poor white people. Gerrymandering is used primarily to strengthen one party or the others voting sway but is also used to weaken minorities voting power in groups. The Jim Crowe era may have died by that name, but its just been repackaged with a different name.
Racism isn't simply calling someone the n word and its not the biggest part of the problem. Racism is law in this country and that's what people are fighting against.Maj. Jackhole, Tb0n3 and gentleroger Thank this. -
I mentioned that the kneeling is in response to lack of equal rights in the eyes of the law, even though, the constitution appears to suggest that it is.
My argument here not whether shootings were justified or not - Thats another layer of debate....so here goes.
Question: Why are there so many acquittals of officers who've shot individuals (usually black)?
Answer: Maybe because the prosecution strategically "over-charged" the officers in the first place, and this ensuring that the bar of Murder 1 will not be met, and as such result in an acquittal?
See this is an example of the system being manipulated to achieve the desired results, which to me is unequal justice.
If we take it as a given that an Officer does not go out looking for someone to kill (or is not pre-meditated) then why charge murder 1?
Example # 2: Phillando Castille who was shot, while getting his D/L, but the officer claimed that Phillando was "reaching"......and guess what he was reaching for?...his wallet, as the officer had instructed him.
Example # 3: Ethan Couch kills 4 people while drunk driving, gets probation and a slap on the wrist VERSUS Michael Vick dog fighting scandal lands him 21 months in the slammer. Which one is worse?... Are dogs are worth more than humans?, or is it that a black man cannot get fair treatment in the eyes of the law? Even for what is a lesser offence of dogs lives vs human lives?
The ingrained racism is so deep that some people cannot realize that they are actually doing it.Midnightrider909 and gentleroger Thank this. -
We are the greatest country the world has ever known. Your examples are boring. Too put MLK in the same paragraph with Weinstein is a insult. The war you mention ended in 1865. You are attacking America.
Here is a simple address to the merit of your issue, and a solution I might add. Are you ready?
Behave yourself and act like a decent human being. Your chances of not getting shot and killed by anyone exponentially increases by following this one simple step. It's true! No 5 million government study needed. See I offer solutions.
Not trying to argue. I support everyone's right to disagree. Please respect my right to think you are a fruitcake.Last edited: Oct 17, 2017
Maj. Jackhole and KillingTime Thank this. -
Or we could fix what's wrong with policing in this country and stay here.Chasingthesky Thanks this.

Part of what’s wrong with policing is the same thing that’s wrong with trucking—a steady decline of wages until nothing but the lowest common denominator wants to do the job. Seriously, in my town, it pays the same whether you want to work at Walmart, McDonalds or be a cop.Maj. Jackhole, Midnightrider909, gentleroger and 2 others Thank this.
