This is an amazing time to start a trucking company no doubt... Although I think the really bubbly part of 2017 may have just ended. We'll see I guess.

This thread is getting ridiculous and you guys are really good at speculating how something would not work, not even giving anything to idea of where it could work beneficially to both people. So keep looking at the world through your pessimistic, non-risk taking, safe, ordinary lives and I will continue trying to find an opportunity that can work out between myself and someone who would find this beneficial. Maybe I'll stay away from forums though.

Just out of curiosity, What kind of sum of money do you have to work with?
-
Dude we're trying to tell you that this isn't how the business works. You're some guy who thinks someone is going to let you drive around their good name on an IOU from a guy who couldn't secure a bank loan to buy it outright. That's called not being stupid not being risk averse. The guy you're looking for doesn't exist. If he was the kind of person who did the deal you've suggested in this thread he would have gone out of business long ago.
EDIT: And +1 to more details. One of the reasons you're getting crapped on is that the details you've posted look bad. If you've got cash everything changes.spyder7723, JayBibb, Canned Spam and 3 others Thank this. -
A lot of assumptions happening here.
-
LOL! Not really!
JayBibb and Canned Spam Thank this. -
The company I am leased to has a nice little Volvo for sale in Woodhaven MI. It is sitting at the Flying J, the old Detroiter truck stop. It has a few issues, but nothing major. They want $16,000 for it, no egr or that crap. You can buy it and lease on, we get 70% of gross and no fees. Pay is up there, normally $2 a mile net take home right now, and we are slow, much higher when the Big 3 gets their retooling done in all of their plants here in the next few months. Loads are normally a skid or two, or empty racks. Best I have done here is $8500 NET, 791 miles, IFTA miles in a week. You do the math.
We were carrier of the year for GM this year. Around 6 to 8 of us, all O/O...

We've worked with what you've given us and asked for more details to clear up the assumptions. The most important assumption, that you have no cash or credit, is the one that you haven't challenged. If it's not true that would be where I'd start.

You need to change your handle to Mr Obvious.
LOL!
