You forgot automatic transmissions. Drivers are too stupid to shift their own gears, after all.

OLDSKOOLERnWV, TripleSix and EZ Money Thank this.

With who? I'm not a union steering wheel holder. Should I go on strike too?

    Lepton1 Thanks this.

Just another thread that shows ELD proponents to be the stupidest, most brain dead and dangerous drivers on the road.

Does e-log make you safer? I don’t know and I don’t care. I love e-logs because every day at the end of my shift I have one less paperwork to worry about.

    Your situation may differ.

Manual transmissions are a distraction for Braindeads. It's unsafe.

But wait...the next wave of idiots will have a new problem. With the current safety cattleprods, the next gen will not be able to properly regulate his speed with the throttle pedal. And they will have to have automatic throttles to be safe.

OLDSKOOLERnWV, EZ Money and MACK E-6 Thank this.

    Forget elogs
Just make it illegal to drive from 9 pm to 7 am nationwide.
Big fine and OOS should you get caught
Everyone the same - since we are all equal.....
No questions asked from customers or load planners or dispatchers....anyone
    Easy.

Or keep elogs and pay everyone hourly.

30 bucks an hour for company drivers. 90 bucks an hour for OOs.

And only work 40 hours a week. 8 hours a day maximum. Includes loading and unloading time.

Then you will see proper logging of off duty and on duty time.

Let the shippers and receivers and brokers figure out all the other details of scheduling around those hours.

That will be the only safe way to do trucking.

Where the hell would everyone park? I'm a night runner and running all days would drive me nuts!

    Eowyn Thanks this.
