Every time I run the numbers,I come to the same conclusion.The truck,company,government,
insurance companies,big oil,shippers,receivers all get paid before leaving a few crumbs for the driver.
Greed everywhere.

 

Not if you run it like a business (which many truckers do not)

 

If I was wealthy and could pay cash for truck and trailer,self insure myself and have a million dollar cash supply I could make a ton of money.
Too many guys think they can start a trucking company with $10,000...

 

How did you justify spending 20 bucks at the DMV for a CDL with no return on the investment?

 

What did you expect?

The driver has the least amount invested in the chain and financially speaking the almost the least amount to lose.

You say that like it's a bad thing. Yet you also said the driver gets paid too. Sounds greedy to me, Wanting to get paid and all.
I'll admit I'm a greedy mercenary. I want to get paid the best I can for the least amount of work. I only work to pay bills and afford "the good life" whatever that may be. I'll go to whoever gives me that.

 

Your "American Rights" go out the window the minute you get behind the wheel of a Commercial vehicle, and it has been that way for some time, not just with the advent of ELD's.
