The cameras I have in my truck have two-way audio. My dog freaks when I talk to her through the camera.
She’s like, “What the ####? There are demons in the truck! Get thee behind me, Satan!”
Oddly enough, people talking on the CB don’t bother her.Blaskowitz Thanks this. -
Good boy; bite Daddy!

I can't imagine not having a CB radio in the truck. That would be like trying to drive with out a Rand Mc Nally or diesel
Blaskowitz Thanks this. -
yeah i hear you buddy i do the same thing just sick and tired of hearing the same baloney all day long on the radio if these drivers had any sense they'd go down a couple of channels and talk amungst themselves but no they rant on and on just to get attention.

There should be an IQ test before Buying a CB radio, receiving a drivers license, and if you are that stupid. You must have a 200 lb + man at your bedside, so that when you get out of bed. They kick you in the chest to pop your head out of ones rectum, before they enter into society. The CB radio was meant for communications in a fashion that represented the Trucking industry as good guys. It was also for communicating accidents, bear traps, and speed traps, and idle conversation. Over the years the quality of driver's has seen a drastic decline in respect, courtesy, and overall professionalism. SAD!!!!!

No need to restrict this statement to truck drivers. Look around our whole society.#1don, rabbiporkchop, Blaskowitz and 1 other person Thank this. -
True that.
I keep the CB on in my towtruck and give a shout out w/my milepost number
when I'm on the roadside and pulling up a breakdown on the Freightliner.
Makes life easier for everybody. You NOW have miles to react before the yellow lights.
That way you don't have to deal with "that guy" that rides your blindspot.Last edited: Oct 27, 2017
Blaskowitz and Timin770 Thank this. -
As one from the old days when the CB was first coming in (1960), I have never been without a CB. It was not until the mid 70s that the garbage really started on the CB. By the time I retired in 2014, the CB garbage had dropped off to one tenth of the 70s garbage.
One just gets used to the crap and mentally tunes out the nonsense or simply turn down the volume for a few miles. I have no idea how many times the lowly CB has saved my butt from the smokies or from a pile up. Now, as a dreaded four wheeler, I have a CB SSB in my Ford Ranger PU and one in my home (hooked to a 22' roof antenna) and do continue to chat with OTR drivers. The lowly CB may have dropped off in usage because of the smaller and easier to set up two way radios; however, truckers still us them. I really do wish the FCC would licence them again and allow up to 50 watts for licenced users. Those lonely night hauls can get to a driver after a while and it's nice to have a friendly and sensible chat; especially on one of the SSB channels.rabbiporkchop and Blaskowitz Thank this. -
SSB radios screen out many of the CB idiots. The only problem is, most truckers don't have SSB capable radios.rabbiporkchop and Blaskowitz Thank this.
