I generally do not go into scalehouses. Legal or not. (I am usually, but DOT will always find SOMETHING...) because scale houses are a financial liability. It does not make good sense to park for 9 hours or whatever in a place capable of destructing 6 weeks of future income.
Only parking at truck stops and Walmarts?

Some restaurants have truck parking too. As you become more familiar with an area, you will see where other trucks park and discover little hidey holes.
Tb0n3, x1Heavy and Trucker61016 Thank this. -
But back in the day Sam Walton was the one who recognized how important the trucker is and wanted all the stores to allow parking and not just for Wal-Mart trucks. How far his kids have brought that company down in morals and friendly welcoming is amazing to me.

I tell you this much, if I lived there in the Dutch Country now, I would be 400 plus pounds obese. -

Those four wheelers you mentioned also ruined it for 4 wheelers to.Lots of Walmarts are marked "no overnight parking" whether truck or 4 wheeler. You can thank the bad apples in both for the rule change.
My walmart on my sandbar restricts over night parking for both. 18 wheeler, and 4 wheeler. Walmart may not have employee's clean the lot, but someone pays for the street sweeper. At lest at mine. I assure you...if you trashed my lot...car, truck, whatever...you'd not be welcomed back. I imagine most people feel the same way. Most not all...always one weirdo out there.
Sirscrapntruckalot - I wanted to be in the FBI. I also wanted to be a pie salesman. - Shirley TempleToomanybikes and x1Heavy Thank this. -
There is another set of roads south of Allentown, if you came out of there northbound you hit 78 near Summit and it's downgrade into Allentown. There is a couple nice places to eat. But not too many. It is my hope they enjoyed economic boomtown. since then. There is a Johnnys in the area for a truckstop and some of that food has made me seriously nauseated and sick several times. I don't know to this day why it was so bad for me with all those drivers elbow to elbow at the counter shoveling the crap into mouth. -
x1Heavy Thanks this.

Only thing I worry about in parking is the area. Is it bad? High crime?
Otherwise it isn't hard to find parking. Even on the side of some back street.
Parking lots of businesses, if you can get out of there by morning.
No big deal....except the area.x1Heavy Thanks this.
