Hey, I'm looking for a TV for my husband. I would like to get him one with a built in DVD player if I can find one. I have checked out a few places online, but I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions. Maybe on the brand and place to look.
Thanks.
12 volt TV....

i bought mine at walmart. its not much, just a little 9 inch screen i believe but it gets the job done. also has a dvd player. not sure how much i paid but i know it was under a 100. im pretty sure you can find 13 inch screens in truckstops.

Just thought I'd ask it he has a laptop . I play my DVD's on my laptop and use headphones for good sound . 12 v TV/DVD players are mostly overpriced .

An inverter will work, than you can use a TV and DVD that you already have.

ya I wouldn't bother getting a 12volt tv they are over priced and lesser quality its easier and better just to get a regular tv and put an inverter in the truck and that way you can use the inverter for alot of different things

Make sure that if you buy a TV, that it is digital capable.
In 2009, there will not be any more analog TV broadcasts in North America.

Don't buy a combination unit, and don't buy anything that's 12 volt. I bought a 13 inch color television at Sprall-mart for about $80 ten years ago. It cost me more than that to have the previous 9 inch tv repaired, then the power supply went out again and I tossed it and bought the 13 inch.

Skip the tv completely. Make sure he has a decent laptop and an air card. He will be able to watch movies and tv online. There are many sites offering free movies on line just type "free movies" into google and it will show you all kinds of sites available. I use the very first one on the list and it works great!
Besides with a laptop he can chat with you on line, get directions, take college courses in his off time, and even play games on line rather than dropping quarters in the machines at the truckstop arcade.
Provided he uses the laptop for some business activity he can in fact write it off as a deductible expense as well as the air card. -
I agree, could not go w/o my laptop. If I do get a tv I will connect it to my laptop and play everything through it. Movies and almost any tv show can be streamed online for free. I'll also be getting a slingbox soon which will allow streaming of live tv and recorded shows from my dvr at home.
