Just something for y'all to think about: I bought a Wilson T2000 about 3 years ago. Wasn't long till it started getting water in the coil and the SWR would go sky high. It has the clear plastic so I could see it had water in it.
I took a drill and drilled two small drain holes on the bottom so whatever water gets in can drain right back out.
I run a little KL-203 amp and I've been running it this way almost ever since I bought the antenna with no issues.

Wilson 1000's are rated for 3k watts aren't they?
-
Careful drilling on the coils. That is soft copper under that plating and you only have to barely nick it with a drill bit to junk the coil. Ask me how I know.BTShepp Thanks this.

I'm not sure the exact wattage for them, but they'll handle all I'll put thru one. Biggest amp I have is a TS 500.

I ran a mag mount 5000 before. I couldn't tell it worked any better than the thru the roof 1000 I installed afterwards. Somebody said on a CB facebook page that the 5000 in the gray box was old stock. As opposed to the 5000 in the mostly yellow box. I don't know and haven't ordered one yet.

HMMM, the one I bought about 4 years ago was in a yellow box
mike5511 Thanks this. -
I have a spare but it's missing the install kit

The original ones have a serial number engraved on the bottom of them and the new ones do not have a serial number.

how do you find the KL-203 AMP
