It should but is it going to pay for my down time? I'd rather take a beating then sit at a dealer all day watching 1 local channel on the hit/miss television sitting on a couch the Salvation Army would refuse.
I'm finally going through the barn with this new truck maybe the shop can provide a quick bandaid or permanent fix, but I just don't have the time to run it out to a dealer for an entire day.
How do you want company truck spec'd?

Not sure who does that work for your company, but my last week on my trainers truck we had a cascadia windshield replaced due to a crack. Took all of about 30 mins.
For the leak, all they do is pop the window out and add sealer. Hell if you could get some silicone sealer and run a bead across the rubber seal at the top of the windshield and it would likeky do the same thing. (My trainers truck had the same leak and we watched how they fixed it) -
That I will leave to the shop. Our shop people do good work and won't send stuff out to the dealer except for other warranty issues they can't address. I normally get through there once a month or so but it's been about 3 months now since I was through there and picked this truck up but will be there tomorrow late morning, finally.

Yeah if your shop guys do it, Id assume they'll be fast. Thats how it was for ours. Honestly, I was amazed how fast the guy had the windshield in and out.

Steering wheel, gear shifter, seat, and a full array of gauges. 475-500 HP under the hood, 18 gears to choose from, a good gear ratio in the rears that lets me do my job at a job site but still run at a good clip down the road (4.17 seems to work, but wouldn't be opposed to 4.35 or 4.42 either). Tall 24.5" rubber and lots of ground clearance. Don't have any use for a sleeper, and prefer the visibility a back window offers. Trucks are for working. If I'm out overnight, I'm staying at a decent hotel...Holiday Inn Express or better. If you won't pay for that, I won't stay out overnight with your truck.

Some days i feel like a need a turret that shoots through the grill, airsoft bullets of course....

I currently pull tanks and I have to say I completely disagree with you on the automatic. My truck can never make up it's mind on gears when climbing and I have to force it down when descending. Then there is the fun of pulling into an intersection to make a left turn and the truck forgets how to go until the surge pushes me through. Give me a stick and I'll do it my darn self.Dale thompson, ChaoSS, 207nomad and 2 others Thank this.

I like where your head is at. The point to my question really is what do you want that the company will actually pay for and what do you hate that for some dang reason the company paid for. My perfect example is I would much rather have SiriusXM than DirecTV but for some reason my company thinks I spend more time in the sleeper than in the driver's seat.

Company spec truck =no sliding fifth wheel,no suspension gauges,no steering wheel controls,no fender mirrors,no fridge,no inverter,no idling truck.
Almost forgot the cheap seats and no window curtains.207nomad Thanks this. -
Do you seriously know of an OTR company today who specs their trucks like that? I suppose a few might exist.
I forgot to add, for dry van and reefer outfits, air release trailer tandem slider, and grab handle on left trailer door, also, tire inflation system on trailer is also very nice to have and easily pays for itself.Tb0n3 and Steel Dragon Thank this.
