I do know that Carrier's really hurted in the past 3 to 4 years.
Doesn't surprise me that anybody has had to reorganize.
Will take a while to gain strength. Thing are looking up for Carriers.

Well my trainer and I got a call Friday after we shutdown, we will be going to orientation at Walmart in Sutherland, Va Monday morning. We will be running only Walmart loads from now on. Don't know if that's good or not, but being we've been running mostly Walmart loads it can't be bad. I have less than 4k miles left in training, so I don't know what happens with me then. We will be reporting to Walmart from now on. This is something new they've started, and someone picked us. Our loads are never late, we don't complain, and my trainer is very competent when it comes to trip planning and sending in Macros.

Well @western Plains, I had a teammate while in school, but when he got his cdl he left going to Werner, although he and I still talk several times a day, everyday. So now, if I decide to do the team thing, I could browse the celadon teammate match website or celadon would make attempts to find me a teammate. I have trouble sleeping while the truck is moving, so I'm not leaning towards the team thing. I drive all the miles with my trainer, he has yet to drive since I first got on his truck. Actually, as far as Walmart loads go, that's all we've mostly ran. Its funny you ask about the Walmart and Amazon runs, because that's all I've ran, but more so Walmart. My trainer and I have been just assigned to Walmart runs only as of yesterday. Hopefully, since I'm being trained on Walmart only they will keep me on there after training. Walmart does not do teams.

Thanks @Dumdriver, I pretty much only talk and share with the old tymers. I look for the positivity and try as best as possible to weed out the negative talk and drivers complaining. What I've learned is, your driving career and experiences won't necessarily be the same as others drivers. Thanks for your reply and shared experiences.

    Interesting...
Sounds like you have a real good trainer.
    I view Wallyworld as gravy.
I admit, I have some good offers. Celadon is one. It was the first. They immediately sent my school the contingent job offer. Only one who did that. They want drivers.
Until now, I was under the impression Celadon is teams only. I thank you all for letting me know that teams aren't in stone. I could team with the right person. Like the idea of keeping that truck moving. Have to admit, I'm pretty much a loner. I definitely have to have my pet along. I don't give up on animals. Just ain't right.
    I'm keeping an open mind...

I see you came on here looking for a trainer. 7 days later you posted you had been on a trainer's truck for 5 days. Did you find one on here, or did the company come up with one in the following two days from the post?

Thanks for your reply @sevenmph, When my initial post was made looking for a trainer, a trainer was already appointed to me, but he was a few days away from finishing up with another trainee. So, me being new, kinda pushed the panick button prematurely, I had no patience fresh out of driving school. I'm slowly learning that Patience is most important in this profession lol. Thank God I waited, because Celadon hooked me up with the best trainer they had and I've learned that to be true. So if I can help a newcomer, I would let them know that having Patience in this Profession is a must. Thanks again @sevenmph.

Tell me about it. I've been on unemployment since July 10th. Taken a while for them to come through with the Grant for CDL school. I've grown impatient as can be. I even tried to check with a local employer through the State Job Office. Seems she didn't follow through right now. But she did check with the employer. Updated job on State site as of 11/1. Still 9 job openings there. I need to be patient, not bug him, apply when I actually have my Class A in hand. Been told he doesn't want to talk because he will hire me when I have that Class A. I've grown too impatient... Doh! .... I'm still keeping an open mind on everything. Never know anything for sure.

Keep tabs on the aurora borealis reports during winter. You can see them in the darkness of the wilderness/prairie. I saw the best northern lights ever one winter. Couldn't believe it. Was awesome. But that one was spotted as far south as Mexico.

Sounds like you also have no idea how bad off celadon truly is right now. But hey, let the new guys working for a mega and not even off of a trainers Truck tell you how this trucking game is played.
