Most shippers and brokers will usually pay the one who has the authority. They are doing business with the carriers. If they did not pay the carrier and paid you instead, then the carrier could come back on them for payment at a later date. If you want to be paid directly then you will need to get your own authority.

I agree based on what my agreement wasto be. The authority holder was going to get paid first, then pay me my percentage from that, although the quote for the amount to be paid per load would be furnished directly to me and the authority holder from broker.

Why don't you just go ahead and get your own authority?

Working on it. Trying to get comfortable running first, to understand the business. Quite the newbie to driving itself, experienced in business management and have been on the warehousing, shipping and receiving side 14 years. Made a career change to driving in July this year. Learning the ins and outs, making connections and once comfortable, that is the plan.
