Is Walmart the right choice for me?

I had a worn out Peterbilt and they gave me a tight spot to put it in at the DC. I was nervous I was going to blow my chance for Walmart didn't help either at the time. That was probably the toughest part of the in-person interview for me lol.

 

I drive two Freightliners. They turn as good as a Corolla lol.

 

I'd like to apply at the Walmart Distribution center in Cullman AL. I've talked to a few drivers about a year ago and was told most of the drivers are older and it's hard to move up there but it's closest to where I live. Can anyone tell me what the environment is there? Where all do they run (specifically how often to Atlanta?), avg ADP expected there? And I guess most importantly, do anyone know when they will be hiring again? Thanks.

 

You're going to start out making 38 cpm with 9 bucks for drop and hook. Your wage progression will be 1% of your W2 every year, but the heartless liberal loving McMillions will make sure you bennies cost go up each year also. You can do better than that driver.

A lot of Atlanta. ADP varies ands with new pay scale I would not hazard a guess. A lot of Atlanta.

Not a huge fan of some of the management. I would look at Opelika or LaGrange myself. They should see Atlanta but seem to avoid it somehow. We have a guy that could drive 20 miles to Cullman. Instead drives 230 to get here. Other guys that could work here stay down there because of winter driving, Chicago etc etc etc

 

Cullman does a lot of Atlanta too? Have a friend that works out of LaGrange and he goes into Atlanta ALL THE TIME. He said he makes low to mid 300 daily because of it.
