Nothing cool about having someone gratuitously take away your night vision by flashing brights directly into your mirror or when oncoming.

Either flash your parking lights or give the old left/right,right/left turn signal salute.

Just get over earlier, then if you were in the middle lane that
Peterbuilg wouldn’t have cared about the no trucks in left lane sign, he’d of been in the left lane,

Sheesh, without reading all the posts, I'm a busy man, but trucking isn't for the thin skinned politically correct driver. Companies have been picked on since I began trucking. 1st, it was Roadway, then Schneider, Corn Flakes, of course,,,,J.B. Hunt, ooo, that was a biggie, and finally, to anyone that drives a Volvo. As a newbie, they picked on me plenty, but you have to roll with it. It's all in good fun. Now, the disrespect on the road is another thing you'll have to get used to. In my 1st trucking job, while waiting to cross a busy street, waiting, and waiting, the "trainer", who was just a dirtball that drove trucks before I did, but he had a good point, he said, "look, you're going to have to be more aggressive, or you'll sit here all day", and he was right. Sometimes, within reason, of course, you have to use your size, with signal flashing, to gently move over, people have brakes. Remember, it's the one worst thing for a 4 wheeler ( and obviously, now trucks) to be behind a truck. They give in, eventually. They may indicate you are #1, but they get over it.
oh, and another thing, trucks may not flash their lights, because they can't, lights on all the time.

Swift name on the truck is a problem. A liability potentially in more ways than one.

And Semi's reference to aggression is necessary at times. Once in a while for myself I would hang the whole semi into a intersection against a turn left light and then sit.

People will have to wait when I finally get the yellow and clear the intersection lol. I know they hate that. But only on certain ones where there is no provision to protect the left turn lane from traffic flow.

If a semi is in the left lane and its a no left lane then he is there by choice. He will get around you when he #### well pleases to or is pulled over.

You have to get a little tougher and put away your feewings on the big road, it will eat you up. I myself got a little bit difficult and changed over the years. I was such a big baby when i started. Thankfully a number of trainers punched it out of me. Yes in those days physical abuse was part of trucking and not something that people today would accuse of assault. It's allowed me to function with just thinking about what is best for my truck. Even if it is in a herd of trucks. (Especially in a herd, horsepower gets in front, heavies drag to the caboose.)

Most truckers don't give a crap about anyone else but themselves

Never used to be that way, pal. We cared about each other, and helped each other. It's all because of the cell phone,,, the cell phone changed everything.

@DirtyhandsMcgee ...great name. I hope it’s on the driver door of your truck. Good name for a fighter, or a good friend that specializes in bad deeds.

You can always tell the guys with a chip on the shoulder. Or the ‘little BigMan syndrome.’ They have to have someone below them in order to feel better about themselves. So, you’re at Swift...so what? Doesn’t mean that you’re a bad hand. Put your name on the door, right under the window. It will separate you from the rest of the Swifties.

Don’t leave Swift because of the boneheads out here on the road. Leave Swift to advance in your career. But never forget your time at Swift. Never forget where you come from. And when you see a Swiftie on the road or passing in a truck stop, say a greeting. It shocks a lot of them when you are cordial to them.

With so many guys choosing to be garbage, it makes it much easier to stand out as an A Game driver. Anyways, you have a good handle. Go out and give that name a stellar reputation.

    Luck in battle.
