Last week I spent an hour per side removing the hazmat decals because the darn things were riping off in 1 cm strips. I have a spackling knife but it wasn't helping much.
Any tips or suggestions on how to remove them?

I carry a small propane torch. Heat them up a little and have at them with the putty knife and they come right off
RERM and haz-matguru Thank this. -
Bug spray, like "Off!" If you spray it and let it soak for a minute or two, it eats right through the glue but won't damage the paint, should scrape off easily after that.

Harbor Freight, Tool Zone, Home Depot, Lowe's get a sharp scraper. The one's we carry have the handle of a hammer, the blade if about 3" long, looks like a razor blade.

Perhaps a orange spray used for cleaning. Light acid might do the trick. (Citrus acid from oranges...) Wet it down and then scrape.
In my day we used a battleship grey spray can PFFTH done. Slap another on top when necessary.ChicagoJohn Thanks this. -
Thanks for tips! Definitly think I should invest in a different scapper as well.

Use a plastic scraper to reduce the chances of cutting through paint. Bug spray is a good idea as mentioned. Acetone can be very harsh on paint as well it will eat fibreglass so using acetone you cannot leave it on too long.

works so quick it won't be on too long...
