Uhhhhh, ......... what comes after "stupid"?
Whatever it is, I think it's safe to assume that's what that
would-be robber was.
*Key word here is "WAS".
-
true or not, I know people that stupid.
Not sure it qualifies under the Darwin award rules, but it might - it takes a certain amount of effort to deliberately mis-load a firearm that way.. but is it enough to qualify?
a further thought - I wonder if these "handguns are bad" people are drawing their "knowledge" from the old westerns, where everybody shot everybody else with a .45. When, historically, the .45 was about as accurate as a loogie. Killing was typically done with rifles.
But Hollywood would have us believe otherwise.. as would Max Brand and Louis L... whatshis name (Author's note: Never read either of them, so I could be doing them a serious disservice.) The shows and movies are about as accurate in their portrayal of gun use as the chop-suki movies are in their portrayal of martial arts combat.
(no, it doesn't mean I don't enjoy them. I just realize they're no more real than the Lone Ranger) -
N.R.A. provided where they obtained the information in their articles, so unless the newspapers were involved in a hoax, I have to believe they were tellin' the truth.
One thing I forgot to mention was that those .22 cartridges were Scotch-Taped in the cylinder.
Here's another one.
During a home invasion robbery, the homeowner convinced the armed robber that the handgun he was using was VERY valuable, and that the homeowner would be interested in purchasing it from the robber.
The homeowner explained that since the robber had already taken all of his cash on hand, he'd write him a check for the firearm.
The robber AGREED, and, upon receiving the check, handed over the LOADED pistol to the homeowner.
And, again, it gave the name of the newspaper that reported the incident.

sure - wouldn't want them going off accidentally, would you?
-
No kiddin'!
Especially considerin' there's NO safety on a single action revolver.
-
safeties are for sissies
-
For the sake of asking,.... I don't think Black powder riffles and shot guns are considered firearms,...Wouldn't they be legal in a truck???
Maybe that was covered somewhere before,..I haven't read all 35 pages... -
Well, ........ except for a Colt 1911, .45 A.C.P.
Carry them ####ed & locked.
And ready for action.

Here is one take on this http://www.askthetrucker.com/cdl-federal-gun-law/
I also attempted to look up the words firearm, weapon, gun and several other at this site, http://www.fmcsa.dot.gov/ and could not find any information. You decide for yourself. But one piece of advice. Don't bring your tire iron to a gun fight.
