Hey guys. Just got a new 388 pete with the 78" raised roof bunk. I opted for the factory antenna to be mounted on the rear of the sleeper instead of mirror mounts. The dealer put on some 4' fiberglass antenna and after installing my DX959 I checked the swr with the internal meter which the needle just bairly moved off of 1 so Im guessing the swr is good. I did get a radio check back after I installed it but up here in the northwest we dont seem to have much radio chatter. The truck is in the shop getting other equipment installed so cant check the antenna brand right now. Just wondering what you guys would recommend for good antenna to mount back there?
Best antenna.

I would check the swr with an external meter first. Then if it's still under 1.5:1 I'd leave it alone and call it good.
Roberts450 Thanks this. -
I think a Wilson silver load 5 foot puts you about five inches above the roof faring. It will talk five miles like that or better on a normal day. Just get a top loaded tunable fiberglass antenna and make sure it clears the roof for decent range. Wilson, skipshooter and some other fiberglass would work well.

Here you can see the mount and antenna. I have a couple 5' wilson fiberglass antenna with the tuneable tips and a 5 footer will put me around 14' at the top I think. I will run the factory one a bit and see what happens. Trucks still in the shop getting a blower installed.
