This. I've been preparing some of my customers who still don't seem to quite get the holiday difference...

 

It's good eatin' right now. My advice is to not be timid to name your price and no matter how much they squeal on the other end of the line, stick to your guns.

 

Might wanna keep your customers informed that prices are going up to cover the ELD mandate, rising road taxes built into fuel price, etc. Carriers shouldn't be expected to absorb those extra costs. That's what I'm sharing with everyone I do business with.

 

It's an ongoing topic of conversation with the folks I do business with. Most folks have been preparing for it.

 

This is why I'm refusing to even offer a quote next week. If someone needs a shipment moved, I'm simply telling them: "Let me find you a guy; I'll let you know what the rate is before I book them, and you can make a decision at that time."

 

I'm @ $20,513 in revenue for the month at around 7,800 all miles with a dry van doing an Oregon to California loop. I could easily end up doing $26,000 in revenue if I want to this month, which would be my best month so far as an owner op 2 years in. I'm thinking about it
