True, but you could always find a better job that gets you home more often, BUT, that would mean you would have to take responsibility for your future and find that job, most would rather just complain about the job they have.

Agree with that. Canadian HOS is much more flexible with the splitting of off duty and it's really nice at times.

Hopefully the study they're doing on the split berth will lead to something similar in the US.

yeah,if the old HOS were in effect i think a lotta guys would run eld's.

it seems to me that we've come full circle and arguing over agreeing. these "outlaws" that the eld cheerleaders point at were't outlaws until the DOT made them so with the HOS ruling. these "outlaws" do heinous acts like take a 2 hour nap while chicago traffic dies down.

here's the funny part....when a O/O looking 379 Pete gets in a wreck the cheerleaders jump in with the outlaw rhetoric and pro eld rhetoric.

when an ELD truck is posted in a wreck they all go full hillary....

    Exactly.

The other day I was talking to a guy I know who runs reefer as a company guy. I was explaining to him why he was getting hosed for running that truck at a base rate of .37 a mile.

I could tell the light wasn't going on until I told him the company fuel surcharge they were receiving was paying his wage. The light went on, however, the silence on the other end was deafening LOL.

Some people only do things when it is forced upon them,,,,,,,,Hence, the ELD deadline.

because up till this point guys could more or less thumb their nose at an absolutely asinine hos ruling.

I've been using BigRoad's digital logging software for 2 years. They have an AOBRD & ELD option via their DashLink cable. I have the cable & Bluetooth transmitter sitting in my office which I will connect and start using as an AOBRD starting December 16th. :)

Sadly a large percentage of the population will/can not think for themselves or only think as "me first" and they must be controlled so rules are needed.
