According to Edmunds the Challenger out weights the escape by 300#. Im like you though at first glance, common sense suggests the suv heavier than a car.

With the weights he showed the challenger would be great on my rig. I would leave front pockets slid all the way in. I drive a Tahoe Xl on 1. It is 6000 lbs and I leave it back one foot from the stops and if I am 3/4 of fuel I am legal. He could do the next load with a mid size sedan to be safe and weigh it.

Only reason I know about those Challengers is that I picked up a load of 300's that were AWD, same platform/engine as the challenger, I couldn't believe how heavy I was, they were just cars not trucks, lol

By moving the longest car to #1 it helps you on the trailer. If you can load 3 of your shortest units on the top of the trailer it will cut your load time. If you need to put a long unit on trailer top, put it on 5.

Ok B, now I have a question, I know that with a chop top you are probably around 110" to the headrack floor over the cab? If you drive an XL on they are about 74" tall, how the heck do you get close to legal height???

IMG_3788.JPG Split deck it with back tires dropped down. That can't be done with sleeper but day cab it works great.

Ok, gotcha, I have seen guys back a tahoe on the #1 but now I see what you are doing, same as the guys hauling e-150's or savanna's they van/suv straddles your cab.

Yes I talked to a sleeper driver who backed Tahoe on 1. He said he can get it 13'8 with pockets open wide. You have to watch your weight with that much weight that far forward. I use 2 idlers on my straps hooked about a foot from stops. I then drive my back tires far enough forward to drop tire behind window.

My only issue with something that big on the headrack is I don't want to ride around leaned over trying to see! Lol it sucks riding 800 miles looking at the bottom of a truck and my neck hurts after awhile!
