If I go to school, during the driving part of the training, can I ask for a nonsmoking trainer? Man I just couldn't stand having to breath that crap for a month.
Sorry but I'm the worse kind of nonsmoker, I'm an exsmoker and that's even worse for me anyday.

You can request a non-smoking trainer.G13Tomcat Thanks this.

It does stink to high heaven don't it. I can't believe that's how I smelled when I smokedBean Jr. Thanks this.

In actual driving school, probably not. After you get to a company and head out with a trainer, yes, you can get with a non smoker of that's your preference.
-
That's great, any chance of actually getting one though?Tb0n3 Thanks this.
-
Definitely. There are plenty of trainers at any company that don't smoke.

It depends. Some of these mega companies don't really care what you want as long as you do as you are told. They will let you ask, and then tell you "sorry it didn't work out", when they really ain't sorry. The company I'm with has 3 trainers. 2 on our van/reefer fleet, and one on our flatbed fleet. The flatbed trainer, is me, and I do not smoke. I used to, but quit years ago. So, new guys who smoke have to take it outside. On the flipside, back when I did smoke, if my new guy didn't, I didn't do it while in the truck. I cleaned my truck well enough, and often enough, that while the lingering smoke may have been noticeable, it wasnt overpowering. So, depending on what company you chose, and choses you, yes you will or no you won't get a non smoking trainer.ladr Thanks this.

I had a friend and his wife that were heavy smokers, worked in the casinos, One week he had 3 heart attacks, 2 while still in the hospital. Doc made him quit right there. After a few months, he came up to me and apologized for making me smell it. Funny, he couldn't stand the smell either. I smoked at least 25 years. You just don't know till you've quit.slow.rider, MrEd and slickWillie1980 Thank this.

I guess I won't sign anything without a nonsmoking trainer in writing. I guess I should call osha, cdc,HHS and all of those to see my rights. I would think in this day and age against smoking it wouldn't be a problem but I'm glad I asked.

What's worse is when people put the butts in their pockets lol. I can smell that from a mile away
