:) Also there should have facial recognition cameras which monitors drivers expressions to see if they are fatigued or not. Also while the monitoring is at I it, can check for deceitful behavior, anything against company policy.

I think the ELD's are coming on. The actions taken by DC is settling into stone.

If the People learned of these actions back when they were in a form easily opposed while in committee then that would have been a opportunity to overthrow such a initiative.

You can cover the Federal Buildings round about in a million big trucks and choke the people with fumes etc in any old protest. It will not stop the Government from implementing what there is to do so at this point. Protests are temporary. It's a waste of energy, time and effort. Whatever actions should have been taken within the framework of Rule making and against the people and organizations advocating such a change back when they first introduced the idea of ELD's

    Wrong.
With Cell phones you have a choice, ELDs do not give you a choice.

I don't need a cell phone to work. And the only reason the govt wants ELDs is control through mandated, warrantless search and seizure

Portability isn't great, with anything, I question tying it to the truck at all.

I ran a loaner for a month, and the paperwork asked for by the different location of the same lease affiliate is burdensome.

Got my old ride back, finally, and now there is a small device on the dash, and I see why the guy with big hands hates it, and his wife has to use the touchscreen.

Oh, and over 3 mph kicks it into line 3 for them.

Never heard of the bad apple that spoils the bunch? There's lots of evidence of bad actors and little to none of it being punished. You don't need to have direct experience to know you cannot trust the police. It's even ingrained in many communities that you do not talk to the police. Have you ever seen that youtube video of the law professor telling you why you don't talk to the police?

Especially when it comes to trucking, they are a revenue service. The main objective is not "safety".
