Decent pay, decent equipment, and great benefits. Mostly regional runs. Lots of I-5.

Nice trucks. Cameras in them but they seem to pay pretty well. Almost went to work for them

The day of redemption was successful! I passed and will have my CDL in hand with all endorsements in 24hrs.... well probably next Monday due to Thanksgiving.
I gave Central Oregon Trucking a call and they said no, guess they are not willing to budge on that 1 year OTR experience required. Thanks to everyone for your suggestions!Bluedew, REO6205, Peelsession and 1 other person Thank this. -
System is not a bad company for someone just getting into the flatbed side of trucking. They do have a fairly descent training program, not A+, but there up there.
Disregard, everyone's comments about Combined Transport out of Central Point, Oregon. They are a descent company. I drive in the heavy haul division, but they are currently in the process of phasing out their FAK flatbed division. It will either be glass division, heavy haul division, multi axle wind division, or reefer.
Those that are already in the FAK will stay there for now, but they aren't going to be hiring anymore for straight flatbed.
I am also surprised that Melton said they don't hire in Washington, when their in Washington all the time. -
Sounds like a decent place

So I just put in my paperwork at the DMV to receive my CDL through the mail in approx 2 weeks (Hazmat background check took forever). Should I wait to apply at companies until I have my CDL in my wallet or should I start now? I have a contact within System Transport willing to suggest me so i'm pretty confident i'll get accepted.
-
Don't wait. Start your applications now.
@Chinatown might add suggestions to compare to System Transport.
Is the focus of your plan to flatbed/open deck? Where is your home base? Are you willing to go OTR or do you need frequent home time? -
System is a good starting company. Can’t go wrong there.
