Does anybody know if the Golden Ox steak house in Kansas City is still open? I ate there in '99 as a senior in high school. I just looked on Google and says it's closed, but was going to re open. I remember the steaks were amazing, and the waitress being very 'friendly'

There was some remodeling going on there last time I drive by there. So maybe it'll be open again soon.

Wow, hoosiergirl. Sorry to hear about your string of bad luck lately. Tell him every trucking job comes with ups and downs. Hang in there. The bad streak will be over soon. He could switch to the flatbed fleet too. We are smaller, two dispatchers who work together. More personal treatment. As far as eating places up I-29. I love HuHot Mongolian Grill. There is one at exit 3 in Council Bluffs, two in Sioux Falls, but not too close to truck parking, and 1 in Fargo a block north of the Petro.

I wasn't home for Thanksgiving. But I knew that was going to happen after being off so long for cataract surgery. I have a co-driver. So I at least had someone to talk to.

    Agree!
Pulled in one night knowing it was there. Had been there before. To my dismay it was closed down....
I went back on duty and drove down the road further... was pissed! Lol

I hope the bad streak will be over soon-it's been pretty consistent since Friday the 13th.

I don't think it would bother him as much if the Miles were there but he has had a couple of really bad weeks which had him questioning whether otr was really worth it. He can take a lot of bs if the miles are there which fortunately for the most part they are.

Me? I'm ok if he's a day or 2 late but the way things shook out he wasn't going to be home til Monday which just doesn't seem like a lot of effort:( went into getting him home

He's finally back at the yard and no trailers are available for his load so he'll might be home later than Monday. He had an extra day built into the load anyway, so hopefully it'll work out.

Unfortunately he's not cut out for flatbed. He's got scoliosis and something else wrong with his back that I can't remember what it's called right now. He kept injuring it working at a foundry so I'm afraid the physicality of flatbed just wouldn't work.

I think if he switches to anything it'll probably be linehaul. He's ok with window licking for now o_O he just wishes there was more drop n hooks. It sure beats the heck out of foundry work though, lol

He ended up with a halfway decent pizza because he was making great time and he wanted to get as far down the road as possible.
