Mountain climbers go by the motto "Cotton Kills" when choosing clothing for cold weather. The reason being that when it gets wet, it loses all of its insulating value. Wool, however, will still keep you warm, as will most synthetics.

A cornish heater in case all else fails. And a shovel and hatchet, and matches. If you need to leave truck you will need to make shelter. Dried food lasts a long time, and is light.

How about communications. Ive been in some areas of the alcan. With no cell servive. I know in Vanada they use UHF as opposed to CB for distance bit how abour ast phones.
This comesxup necausexa couple of buddy's broke down last week and their lottle heater did nothing to keep the cab warm in -10 -
