If anyone out there has any experience with both West coast and East coast, I would highly be interested knowing which do you prefer..

Are you wanting to relocate or what exactly is the question?
    Where is your location now?

I'm currently in Fairview,TN. Heading to Trenton,Oh. My company only runs East coast. I'm not really liking it. Seems like some lanes in certain states aren't even wide enough for a tractor-trailer. I'm not discouraged because I have a family to provide for. I was just wondering how it is in the West?

More mountains, steeper mountains. Bad weather in the plains and Rockies. CA just sucks.

In my opinion Midwest is where the best miles are, unless you can get with a coast to coast company.

Can you elaborate on the lanes that aren't wide enough for a tractor trailer? Does you company set your route? Are you following a GPS?

And even with all that, it's still better than running East. Well, except for California. It just sucks, like you said. I tore that page out of my atlas.

I like the midwest, but I ran east so much I got used to it.

I know Fairview. Had some antique furniture refinished at a little shop there. I'm from just North of you in Robertson County and also Davidson County. Relocated to Nevada not too long ago.
Personally, I like the Western States , especially the Southwest. You'd probably like a company with regular runs to the west coast.
Danny Herman Trucking doesn't run Northeast and usually stays below I-40 with lots of runs to the Texas border towns and Southern California.
Contract Freighters www.cfidrive.com runs everywhere. Lots of west coast runs and some Northeast, but their long runs get you out of there fast.
    A&R Logistics
requires 6 mos. experience and home most weekends. Probably be dispatched out of Jackson,TN or Decatur,AL. Don't need endorsements to drive their trucks.
Dynamic Transit does little to no, Northeast and runs west coast.
Navajo Express has a terminal in Jackson,TN and runs lots of west coast.
