I'd guess some marine version cat engine?

No they were truck engines. I'm not sure how far back it went but Paccar requested their motors be painted white up through about 87 maybe 88 I'm not 100% sure on the years. We ran Caterpillars but I have seen some white Big Cams as well.OLDSKOOLERnWV and Oxbow Thank this.

The 83 Pete Pop had was powered with a white Cat. Exhaust elbows under the sleeper would almost turn white if you didn't pay attention! -

Thanks guys. Too bad we are coming into winter. Salt snow ice, and everything nice. But the old trucks were made to work, if I could afford to park it for the winter I would. Not in the cards.
