husky was bought by esso, they'll remain husky as far as i've learned?

I mean i totally get your points, canada is #### now, but to want to go to the states still doesn't seem logical... If I wasn't able to leave crap canada for australia I'd be looking at eastern Europe

I left because of a girl, but to be honest I would have left at any given opportunity due to the circumstances and facts you've posted, not disagreeing trudeau has ruined the country

Esso is converting them all to Card-locks only, and tearing down the stores/showers/restaurants.

There are some nice places in the US, with good people. My Sister is in Arizona, and she loves it. I personally love driving in the US, and it sucks that I have to come back to Canada after every reload.

CaboverKid, my buddy moved his oil and gas drilling business to West Texas in 2015, he hired a lawfirm that handles that kind of stuff, and it was pretty much a point and shoot affair.

What's happening with Husky? Didn't they just rebuild a number of locations..? I am an esso key guy and think it's great how they recently merged... Husky doesn't have the nicest showers everywhere but their program can't be beat. I am still drawing down on my 10,000 points from when I was a debit customer....they never expire and I eat in their restaurants and buy stuff so I'll never run out. All the other major players are not interested in the small business trucking company and their laughable discounts reflect that.

I agree, its #### sad. They already tore down the husky in Hope a few years back, its recently been converted into an Esso Card Lock, and they removed the port-o-potty Husky had there. The showers in Cranbrook and Calgary are now closed. Sicamous, Golden and Swift Current are falling apart, and not selling commercial diesel until Esso converts the pumps (Someday). I pretty much have to plan my Canada loads around the Flying J in Hope, Calgary, Sherwood Park and Moose Jaw. The new lower Petro in Kamloops is a god-send, but their fuel is #### expensive. Husky in Merit is gone, but the parking lot is still there. I'm mostly running US now, so I can get a shower in Post Falls or Shelby heading south, and in Ferndale WA going to and from Vancouver.

I operated companies in both countries. Numbered LTD's in Ontario and Fla. At the time I did it primarily so i could base-plate my trucks in Fla. Pre-Pro Rate days i could run in Canada cheaper on a Fla plate than i could on an On. There are advantages, but that's where it gets real complicated. To get it right you need to sit down with an accountant and a lawyer with transportation related experience wherever you register in the US. Getting full advantage is dependent upon the companies involved being structured properly. Like i said, it's really complicated but the company is going to need legal/financial representation anyway. Just pick the right ones.
