They aren't supposed to take any thing out that has to do with the operation of the truck.
So my advice is to find another job quick.
Is taking a fuel surcharge from a company drivers pay legal?

Sorry, I've been busy all day until now, this past week it was right around 300.00 dollars

Thanks, yeah I'm definitely an employee and agreed to 29% of every load I haul
-
You ain't kidding, that's one of the reasons I haven't just walked yet, bad timing to start a new jobNavigatorWife and pattyj Thank this.

Thanks, yeah I'm going to have to sit down with them and get things changed or I'm leaving, I've only used paper logs and have 15 years experience hauling cars
-
Thanks, that's pretty much what I told them, they are supposed to get back to me, what exactly is the wage and hour board?

If 300 is their 15% in a week I'm going to assume you earn way more than average regardless of how they divy it up.. just a thought

my complaint isn't that I'm not making decent money,
I am an experienced former owner op car hauler that brought over all of my customers to this company and agreed to a 29% starting rate per load and then when I get my check, they took another 15% from the 29% for a fuel surcharge, which was never discussed or agreed upon and they act like it's just business as usual, I've never heard of something like this, a fuel surcharge is supposed to be charged to a shipper/ customer, not a company driver
