The Senate has it's own issues. With the less than two days remaining until Shutdown midnight friday, there is no expectation that this will be brought to the floor, debated and passed successfully.
Mccain is in a position that he is dying from a particularly hostile form of illness within his brain stem or lower brain that will kill him in less than a year rather fast. So once he is passed on, and all the memorials are completed someone will have to be elected to replace him. Also consider the Alabama elections next tuesday. There is only 52 Republicans in majority which isnt much of a majority at all when you have upwards of a dozen republican senators grabbing news headlines when they claim to consider to vote a certain way against a given bill weeks prior to a vote.
The situation with the Political Parties at this point between the two current in Congress is a pile of mess. Neither has any credibility or focus anymore. Im not either one, have not been for years. Essentially independent. So I can abuse both parties equally without worry.
Washington will focus on the looming shutdown and increasingly get frantic in the deadline midnight hour eastern time as it approaches. Eventually I expect a 5 minute voice vote late at night to continue spending as before without a shred of anything supporting it except a simple faith and credit in the entire structure from the bottom all the way to the top.
If they have done their work as required as far as a formal budget for all the Government Agencies like they were supposed to decades ago we would not be in this constant fix. It's unfortunate.

If I'm not supposed to have the tool I used to save my backside, that's a pretty good reason to not stick around. Besides, if I'm not familiar with the area, who knows how many of the hoodlum's "friends" will be along shortly to settle the score. Nope. I'll do what I have to in order to ensure my safety, and IF they come knocking on my door, I'm still not admitting to anything.x1Heavy Thanks this.

From research myself, there are no federal laws on the books as to carrying a gun in a Commercial vehicle. This said, every state has their own laws as to concealed carry in a commercial vehicle. Also if you possess a CCW, CCL, or other named concealed carry permit. Check the states that are reciprocity of your home state, and allow your state's CCW into their state.

The two I worked on in Calumet that one time, it was violent and fast. I got clear of there when it was apparent they had enough and wanted out. I thought it necessary to get clear myself because I had no idea if there is a gang coming. The Law? Ha. give it about a half hour and you might have a car show up.
Now, if I had that same go around scenario happen here at home where the law IS present and within a max of two minutes anywhere to respond with at least two cars and a hell lot more coming from 6 counties where necessary... You best stick around and stay in touch with 911. Got a whole lot of help coming awful fast. -
You could be an easy target hauling gas. Take the case of a 69 year old man dumping his load late at night minding his own business. A punk shot and killed him for what little money the man had.

There’s also the possibility of someone stealing the truck and using it as a bomb.x1Heavy Thanks this.
-
I was going to say that but I don't want people thinking me to be a dumb--- liberal overthinking politician. After the recent truck use as a method of killing people the rolling bomb is closer to reality.
-
It’s happened before, although not with a fuel tanker. Oklahoma City springs to mind.
-
Propane tanker would be more of one.
-
Propane tankers are quite tough. I think would could only get one awesome flame by breaking off the valves on the belly of it.
x1Heavy Thanks this.
