I know this or another forum steered me in their direction, but i do not recommend the company. Average 1900 miles a week for new drivers, and if you can sweet talk a lousy dispatcher you may get 2500 a week. They dont pay their detention pay, you have to check every paycheck to make sure the payroll department is doing their job. Wait on the phone to call payroll, then use transflo and wait a week to get any money if you ever get it. $35 out of $40,000 paid in a year to me, and unlikely to get the money they owe unless i get an attorney. Equipment another issue, broken every 3 weeks for the first 4 months until i got a new truck.

People on The Forum might steer drivers in a certain direction, but the Forum doesn't steer anyone in any company's direction. And I'm pretty sure if it did, it wouldn't be US Express.
There is actually quite a bit of negative information on this forum about that company, including a lot of the things that you mentioned in your post. But, look at the positive, now you can move on to bigger and better things than a low life Mega. -

I'm assuming he meant $35,000 out of $40,000.

Well I worked for USX as a o/o for 2.5 years and I did ok. There is good and bad no matter where you go small to mega company. They are better than most but not a long term answer if you really wanna make some money out there driving a truck. These trucking companies seem to have control on the industry and study try to choke us small guys out. Well after 20 yrs and all this crap they are pushing on us now, I do believe I may just surrender. Jerry Seinfeld just remember there is another USX around every corner. All got there good/bad points. Good luck my friend and I do hope you find the GOLD in your career

Well their is a whole web sight dedicated to the greatness of companies like USX. The owner of that web sight emphatically states how he never got less the 3000 miles a week for the whole six years he worked for them.
I could not spend any time there, I have a low tolerance for being lied to.TST65 Thanks this. -
correct $35,000 out of the $40,000 owed for a first year driver. Of course, $3000 out of pocket for school. Not just USXI but all companies that say $75,000 first year are stating partial truth. If a driver was able to get 64 hours a week for a year driving on a 68mph governor, that is possible, but reality is that all these jobs state the max pay not the average.

I have been driving along time now (20yrs) and see a lot of inflated ads about the BIG MONEY. Well $$$ in trucking it is there, but it truly matters if YOU are the person for the job. I see guys daily pissing and whining about everything under the sun. Then you see them gather as a group and the drama begins. I have stuck it out in some not so good jobs as I am a person that sticks to my commitment. I was with USX for almost 3 years and did quite well as a O/O running my 2007 Freightliner Century and then my 2004 peterbilt. Key was I did what they asked when they asked and stayed out of the drama. I was the guy dispatch could count on. Trucking is truly a roller coaster ride. Day to day is different. Build your reputation where ever you go and it will truly pay off in the long run. Don't gotta be a butt kisser just gotta be dependable

USX back in the 90's was a good cross country carrier Most all my runs were coast to coast. A normal run out of the house was Wa to MN then final in VA or OK & final in FL. Short run then Pu in Md back to Ca.. Out 6 wks then back out in 5 day.48k gross in 98. Then they changed the HOS & started dumping cross country freight on the rails like JBH. Gave us a .03 raise and would run west coast drivers like me east of I-35 mostly doing expidited between Ohio & the NE.
So went 11 western & in chain season you were the chaining ##### for the teams pu their loads in UT or Reno to take to Cali. Once in Cali you became a shorthaul ##### for all the western railyards or to del team frt in SoCal.
USX is for teams now mostly. Solo company drivers should avoid or become a ##### for the teams. -
Yeah, I think I know that site. That guy also claims that he averaged 4500 miles a week for over a year pulling tankers for another company.Toomanybikes Thanks this.
