    #### Crash that stuff sucks!

Its been a rough year for a lot of folks.

In June my house was hit by lightning and burned
In July my truck was repoed and I had to go find another yob.

2 weeks to the day after my house was hit by lightning my sisters house was hit, hers didn't burn.

I know at least one other forum member that his biz died this yr.

Another several that have had a hell of a time with their jobs.

    It been a tough yr.

My truck choice:One that will run forever, never break down, get 10+MPG,with enough power to climb the steepest grade in the top three gears, that rides like floating on air, with every top shelfoption known to man.Oh yeah, and Paid for!!!
My dream truck(s):Either a Kenworth W900A or a Peterbilt Fatcab cabover pre-1981.Powered by a Pro-built Big Cam IV Cummins 600+H.P.,15 spd O.D. with 3.70 rears on tall rubber, stretched frame ,fully customized and paid for.

You ain`t making me mad.All brands have made me walk before.I wasn`t a fan of any of them when that happened.Big cam Cummins always seemed more "driver friendly."
Nowadays everything is idiot proof which pretty much evens the board.

As long as the ECM is working right, if not, it's just another piece of junk that doesn't run. If you have enough gauges and enough experience, or the computer to interface with it and the knowledge to do that, you can figure out where to start looking for the problem. I'll take a mechanical Cat for reliability, then a Series 60, then a , well I'm not sure, I've sat in the dark and cold too many times.:biggrin_2554: Sure wouldn't be an ISX. The Series 60 got me home, but I'm thinking that was just dumb luck.

The best truck is the one that is paid for. Especially the way things are right now.

And the same goes for the trailer. Both of mine are, and I am still having a hell of a time out here compared to just a year ago.

Well, if I was to spec a new truck. I'd go with the Kenworth T-660, with the 86" Studio Sleeper. Cummins or Cat at least 500 HP 15 Speed Transmission, GPS, APU, CleanAir, Refrigerator, 300 Gals. Full Aero Pkg., 3.50 gears, Air Ride Suspension, Cab, and Seats. Cruise, Dual Exhaust, Sliding 5th Wheel, Full Gauge Pkg, Smart Wheel, and all the other bells and whistles I can think of.

Change your gearing to at least 3:42's. I have all of the above, 13 spd, 530 Cummins + DirecTV with a 27" Samsung LCD. Oh, and heated seats. Popping over 7 mpg without even trying. And don't forget the Super Singles!

Well, I would have to go with this type of truck for over the road:

    (any year) Kenworth W900L
    C-15 Caterpillar Engine 475-625 Horse
Eaton Fuller 13 Spd OD 3.36-3.73 Ratio
86" Studio Sleeper with all the goodies! Fridge, microwave, etc.

That's what I prefer. Kdub And Cat. Best out there!

I had a W900L, 2004. It was stolen in Vegas, along with a brand new trailer. They found the trailer a month later in Blythe CA. The truck went to Mexico as we later found out.

Most uncomfortable truck I have ever had! I will keep my rolling condo with a place for my 27" LCD. And she is paid for.
