12.7s are quite possibly the best engine ever made. Great dependability and good fuel mileage. And when they do break, parts are easy to find, cheap, and the engine is stupid simple to work on.

I agree. I’m not sure of inframe cost but I’ve heard that very reasonable also. Only thing I would change is wished it had a 13 speed and little different gearing.ShooterK2 Thanks this.

Last time I drove a 99 w 900 was in 99 for Harold Ives.forget what it weighs.a Lil more than the fld.fill one tank with water and kink the fuel line might get you a few more pounds.if they don't catch it.

I will drive it there and see if it don’t derate before I make it.magoo68, ShooterK2 and spyder7723 Thank this.

About 2200 for the kit, another 350ish for rod and main bearings. And a solid 3 days if you've never done one before. Slight chance of needing to get someone out to cut the counter bores.. that will run ya about 1500 more. That's basic inframe costs with oem parts. New remanned head 1850. 1500 for a 6 pack injectors. 800ish for a new borg warner turbo.

Been driving my 08 379 with 550 cat since new.had a few bugs to work out as all new trucks do but it was all under warranty. 640,000 changed clutch twice other than tires and brakes and a wheel bearing or two haven't had a problem worth mentioning. I run local on flat ground. Truck has never seen a mountain. I can assure you I'll still be updating within the next couple of years though regardless. Dot knows a 20 year old truck when they see one and treat them accordingly down here.

My driver was stopped for inspection in that fld and asked officer was it because was a old truck. His reply was he has less problems with older truck than new ones. Older trucks were built better and last longer.Nitemare13, Ristow, ShooterK2 and 2 others Thank this.
