Has anyone had the experience of going down a mild grade, at least half a mile or better, in cruise control, and when you get to the bottom discover you're losing speed because your cruise control seemed to have disengaged itself?

I drive a ‘16 cascadia. I had all kinds of cruise control issues the first year. Has been in the shop for it several times. It still will just randomly shut off occasionally.
JReding Thanks this. -
My 16 auto cascadia wouldn't down shift automatically if i put jakes on full blast when in cruise to maintain speed. Also it would kick on the jake if it went 5mph over set speed. My new 18 downshifts a couple gears and revs real high so I just switch it to manual mode when going down grades or if I want full jakes. It probably has a safety feature to cut off the cruise when it notices your going downhill or over set speed. Gonna have to get dealer to plug in and change settings within the trucks A.I.

My 2014 Cascadia's cruise only kicks off if the adaptive cruise malfunctions. It's stayed on going almost 90 down a hill. It just doesn't give the engine any fuel until I drop below 68 then the engine comes back on.

The one that had the DT12 did that, the manual ones never did it.JReding Thanks this.

That's what I have, the DT12.
And it's never an overspeeding or engine braking scenario, is just a very mild decline. If anyone is familiar with it, it happens nearly every time in SB I-5, just south of the Mounts Road overpass and the RR trestle (about the 116 marker). It's a very gentle drop and usually I'm coasting in neutral. Maybe it's too ling of a coast, and that's what disengages the cruise..?
