What is ELD pupose?

More money and job creation for everyone that has to do with ELD except the truck drivers and the trucking industry as a whole.That's the purpose of elogs.Its been proven over and over 4 wheelers cause the most accidents and argued many times but as you can see that didn't do a bit of good.FMCSA minds were made up long ago and noone was going to change that.Most the drivers know this is about money for the fat cats.

 

About two years ago, I was searching Web trying to get news of the White House having ratified the Elog Mandate and I bumped into some excerpts from an ATA conference, which is our enemy and Mega carrier's watchdog, that clearly shown their attitude of the "leveled playing field". Not only, that...to my surprise the guy who was speaking, clearly pushed the agenda for unifying speed limit as their next battle. I think, had they not been pushing it, nothing would have changed. Senators and Congressmen never seemed like they ever cared about this regulatory staff. They care about highway and fuel taxes only. They had to prompted.

Look at at all these fake, unnecessary businesses, leeching off our blood thanks to the mandate...keep truckin in my case. One little presidential decree and all their "solid" business foundation based on some dubious regulation, is crumbling. Their are the real governmental benefactors. We are being leached off; the fuel and maintenance is 60% of all of my expenses. The rest is insurance, taxes, interests... the leeches. Welcome yet another leech to my business....Keep Truckin.

 

Southern California should be entertaining, it'll become truck Armageddon with endless trucks randomly parked all over the place.
Grandma just might wake up only to find a swift Truck parked in her driveway too.

 

Surely, when the grandma bumps into such a parked truck, and dies...the poor old women, it will never occur to them that perhaps Elogs (yeah, yeah...HOS strickt enforcement) could be the reason. Actually, I propose a prediction that Elogs (yeah, yeah.....HOS strict enforcement) will cause more death on roads than abilty to do "cheating" of the HOS. HUH!

 

there are two kind of logbook cheaters. Drivers who do 4-5 round trips in a mount between LA and Chicago and drivers who drive 0.5-1 hour more to find a parking spot or to get to receiver or to get home... Elog suppose to stop Type 1 drivers and make big issues for Type 2 drivers.

 

Maybe if we can get everybody on eLogs, many will now finally get it why others have no patience or tolerance of those who hold up fuel lines for excessive times. Those 8 and 14 hour timers are a PITA when all of the sudden they become electronic and run in real time and are the worst kind of snitch.

But then there's that stupid 30 minute break that feeds the aforementioned problem.

 

We'll see...But I thought that they were those on elogs who were doing their 30 min breaks right there at fuel pumps...also crawling with their trucks at below their AOBRD motion speed limit to and from truck stops for a mile away from highway ramps.

 

For me, the ELD purpose is to allow me much more time to play video games.

I'm buying the new XBoxoneX now with the biggest monitor I can fit in my sleeper.

Problem is I get addicted to these games and now I will be getting even less sleep( playing 7 or 8 hours a night) than I did with paper logs. LOL

 

We'll sure have more time to bath. Everyday now. We'll stink less. People will like us better.

 

In some cases perhaps. But I think most of it is inconsiderate people who just don't value the time of others because they've never experienced the issues only a driver ACTUALLY running on eLogs can know.
