Your only of less value to the customer that can't figure out how to, or refuses to to get you loaded or unloaded in a reasonable amount of time.

eLogs or HOS should have nothing to do with this. Treating the time of all fellow humans as valuable should be expected from anyone, at all times, no matter any secondary issues. To my way of thinking, eLogs and HOS rules are secondary to basic expectations of respect of my and my company's time.

not every load is dog food , something's have to be on time , business counts on it , when there's an unforeseen delay , and the ELD says stop , you just lost value , you just cost someone money , repowering service failures will be big business .
That's not going to help trucking get respect or more money

I've been on this ELD for 10 days .
Last week I was running I-phones solo , they don't just give those loads to anyone , and they paid very well , easy peasey , now I'm on a north east to vegas turn around and logging over 700 miles a day , I'm going to be fine .
But I'm going to hate having to explain why I'm late for a load someday , that's just me

I don't know what to tell you. We work in a world where on-time service history with a customer's shipments is critical at contract renewal time. On-time performance is expected of the drivers and the office to also do their job properly. And guess what - we do it on eLogs. Yes, once in a while we'll miss a load due to HOS and can't get another truck to relay it, but it's rare. In fact, most critical goods today are shipped with eLog companies along with their associated tracking systems. Sorry that argument just doesn't fly. I can guarantee you, there are probably thousands of loads this week that will be missed, that were carried by slacker drivers on paper. The notion that "paper drivers" are "always on time" is ridiculous.

    It's not hard to explain.
Sorry but I've got federal rules and regulations to follow.
I'm not going to put my licence or my company in jeopardy for your freight.
I've got a business to run too.

    peterd and tow614 Thank this.
