Did they ever get any clues for what could be wrong?
-
They said that the brakes were a bit too tight and sometimes they get stuck, all because the truck is so new. Also told me it takes about 30000 miles for the truck to get “broken in”
-
Drum or disk brakes?
-
Brakes too tight. Sounds like a line of horse #### to me. If your brakes are dragging enough to cause a possible 3 mpg loss I'm thinking your truck would've been a smoldering pile of ash on the side of the highway by now.
BigHossVolvo, Oldironfan and driverdriver Thank this. -
Two recent Detroit’s that I’ve had, (a 2013 DD15 and a 2016 DD16).
The first few months were not to good, got much better after 50,000 miles. Still improved all the way out to 95,000 miles before settling in.
I can break 5 US mpg in the summer, just under 4 US mpg in the winter pulling 140,000 lbs on the Canadian Prairies. -
Sounds like a lemon truck built on Monday. To bad only Wisconsin has lemon laws for commercial trucks.
-
Could be problem with accelerator, the sensor might be bad, not telling engine to accelerate.
