Kenworth red light

Mine isn't. It's dim to the point of complete and total uselessness.

 

MY 2014 T680 has the same red light in the center overhead. Just bought the truck and i have been trying to figure out what the heck it is also. doesn't bother me, other than i don't what it is or why its on, and that bothers me. i like to know everything about my truck
So anyone know???

 

OK, BUT what is its purpose?
what is it supposed to be doing? its so dim its not for seeing anything

 

Red light at night helps me stay awake. In fact I put a small trailer maker light in its place. Pop the cb out and you should be able to unplug the light.

The purpose of the light is killing me!! I have searched and searched and can’t seem to find what it’s purpose is ANYWHERE!

 

Because it looks cool?

 

It's there to provide a little light down on the dash, cup holders and stuff during night driving. That is it's only purpose.

That was the answer given when I asked my dealer the same question when I picked up my 680.

Personally I like it. Don't really notice it's there unless it's not. I put a piece of electrical tape over it once to see the difference. Get out in the boonies where it's really dark and it's nice to have. JMO, so if you don't like it just cover it up with some tape.
