I’m not a Job jumper. I stick with what works. I look for consistency $$$$ along with growth opportunities in the companies I work for.

    (Prepare for another long post)

Why do you stay at your current gig? Why should you quit?

When you start a job, you and the company make an agreement. You agree to drive the way they want you to, all that company policy crap, for a certain amount of money and a certain amount of time before you return home. If you uphold your end of the bargain, they should hold up their end. If they don’t, it’s time to jump ship.

You’re climbing a ladder. The goal is to go UP the ladder. You quit a gig to climb up towards your goal. For many of you, that’s being home every night. If that’s what you want, work towards that goal. If you want to be more specialized, if you want to be an owner op, everyone has different goals.

You’re burnt out. If you loathe your job, get out. If you are doing something that you loathe, and cannot change your situation, you’re a loser. For you, there is no winning, just various degrees of losing. Sucks to be you.

I work 6 months a year, I ride 6 months a year. Even if I could be home every night, I’d rather be out on the road on the motorcycle. My problem with running local is the local jobs won't allow me the time off I want to do the long rides.
I make the money that I want to make. I enjoy the hell out of the job. I own the truck that I want. I do what I want to do and reached all goals. And as of today, I am not burnt out. So, why should I quit?

Exactly. All these people complaining about pay... why are you still there then? If no company is gonna pay you enough to be happy why are you driving a truck? Learn another skill.

I make more money than anyone I know in an office and I put in the same hours as them. Now my friends who are into real estate and are pharmacists destroy my pay, but if I wanted to I could be a pharmacist too... stop complaining people, if you don’t like something then change it, I’m not just talking about work. Life in general.

Yeah but most will crash and burn and be out of trucking in a few months. You’re always gonna have a job as a skilled driver vs someone driving a castrated auto cascadia down the interstate all day and swinging doors.

Those guys aren’t getting into construction or getting good tanker jobs.

Driving a van trailer full of tvs is not even in the same league as pulling a tanker or getting in an operators union. Skill wise and pay wise.

The road to better things moves faster with a flawless safety record. Enduring the first 6 months to 1 year is the key to better opportunities.
